Fox renews Deep State for second season
Espionage thriller Deep State has been renewed for a second season by Fox Networks Group (FNG) Europe & Africa. Season one of Deep State was the first regional commission for Fox and aired in more than 50 countries. Fox commissioned the follow up ahead of the season one debut in April this year.
The show was sold to premium cable and satellite channel Epix in the US, where it has been their highest rated drama; as well as to broadcasters including SBS in Australia, NBC Universal in France, Super Channel in Canada, TVNZ in New Zealand and DRTV in Denmark.
Co-created by Matthew Parkhill and Simon Maxwell, Deep Sate is a visceral thriller moving between a deeply personal story of a family man fighting to escape his past and a the violent, dark excesses of government and global corporate power.
Season 2 sees Walton Goggins join the cast as a former CIA agent who works in sub-Saharan Africa as a 'fixer'. He operates for the so-called ‘deep state’ that comprises global powers seeking to profit from political instability around the world. The cast also includes: Joe Dempsie, Karima McAdams, Anastasia Griffith, Alistair Petrie, Victoria Hamilton and Alexander Siddig.

Shooting begins on location in Cape Town, Morocco and London from September.
